With the city only a 5 minute tram ride (or picturesque 30 minute walk) away, Richmond is the best place to experience Melbourne.
Here's why.
Our place is surrounded by cafes, shops, bars, pubs, boutiques and restaurant strips, and fully furnished with classic antique pieces in a bright and well-maintained building.
Both Bridge Road and Victoria Street are at our doorstep, and riding the tram to Chapel Street and St Kilda requires just a 5 minute walk.
Supermarkets, convenience stores, specialty produce shops and boutiques are dotted throughout the vicinity.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and the Melbourne Tennis Centre are less than 2km away - either a stroll, bike ride or short tram ride.
Guests are welcome to use our wifi, and many of the cafes around us have free wifi too.
Fresh towels are provided and guests can help themselves to all fruit in the fruit bowl, tea, coffee and are free to use all kitchen and laundry facilities.
There is a hair dryer and hair straightener just for guests too.
We have made space in the kitchen for guests who want to cook their own food, and happily share all of our condiments (and access to our herb garden!).
The Yarra Trail is accessible at the end of our street. There's a cute little deck right on the river. We have two bikes that you can borrow (for free of course - they're not amazing, but they work). We also have a skateboard if you feel so inclined.
The Richmond Baths are at the end of our street, where the Gleadell Street Market runs every Saturday from 7am - 1pm.
Please note that - for obvious reasons - we prefer to accept guests who have an Airbnb profile.
HOW TO GET HERE:
If you're arriving via the airport (Tullamarine or Avalon) then you can get the SkyBus to Southern Cross station (where the SkyBus terminates). Then ride the 48 North Balwyn tram from Collins Street (where the main entrance to Southern Cross station is) straight to our door (pretty much). The ride takes about 20 minutes, through the city and along Bridge Road. Get off at stop 20 (corner of Coppin Street and Bridge Road).
Alternatively, if you're in the city, just take either the 48 or 75 tram (75 tram is from along Flinders Street) to stop 20. It's a 1 minute walk from there.
